The portal is designed for readers who may not already know Brazil’s institutions, legal process or political context.
Sources
Articles can draw on official documents, public data, company disclosures and reporting from Brazilian and international media. The source list attached to an article lets readers inspect the supporting material retained for that story. Our broader standards are published in the Source Policy.
Allegations and legal process
Allegations, investigations, arrests, charges, trials, convictions, acquittals, appeals and final judgments are different procedural stages. Brazil Scope does not treat an allegation or arrest as proof of guilt. Sensitive claims should be attributed and written to reflect the documented procedural status.
Historical context
Historical stories identify the underlying event date when that information is stored. Publication date and event date are kept conceptually separate so an older event is not presented as a current development.
Promises and public commitments
A promise or commitment should be evaluated only when the original commitment and a measurable deadline, target or indicator can be established. Political criticism alone is not treated as proof that a promise was broken.
Bylines and newsroom identity
Articles can carry a named author profile or the institutional Brazil Scope Newsroom byline. Public author pages describe the byline, areas of coverage and any disclosure information that has been provided.
Corrections and updates
Material corrections are logged separately from ordinary updates. When a published article is materially edited through the newsroom workflow, the article can display a dated change record. See Corrections & updates.
Automation and AI
Automation assists discovery, classification, verification support, drafting and distribution. Discovery is not publication: candidates can be ignored, merged, deferred or sent for verification. Drafting is constrained to a verified fact package, and publication rules still require evidence thresholds, retained sources and additional guardrails for higher-risk claims. Reader metrics
Audience metrics are used to understand what readers find useful. Technical/admin routes are excluded from public traffic measurement, and session metrics are calculated only from pageviews that carry session identifiers so legacy rows do not inflate pages-per-session.
